Tennant is looking for a Software Technical Leader to join the New Product Development team.  In this role you will have a direct impact on Tennant’s innovation.  You will be responsible for establishing long-term software technical and process directions.  You will work cross-functionally to develop and launch these products globally.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve new software development processes.

  • Be a stalwart advocate of efficient and precise coding, and routinely demonstrates best practices in the solutions they create and via the code they review.

  • Mentor and actively participate in the development of junior engineers and designers.

  • As part of a cross-functional team, execute complex engineering projects.

  • Monitor and evaluate relevant emerging technologies.

  • Develop and evolve the software modularity platform

  • Lead/Participate in Design Reviews.

  • Recommend and implement software analysis tools

Requirements

Required Experience:

  • BS (MS preferred) in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

  • At least 15 years of demonstrated ability to deliver excellent products to established timelines.

  • Global electronic design leadership and implementation experience.

  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.  Green Belt accepted.

  • Prior Electric Vehicle electrical system design highly desirable.

  • Ability to present complex technical information to internal and external customers.

  • Capable of leading technical teams through structured problem solving.

  • Creative, dynamic team player, able to lead small cross functional groups.

  • Experience with all phases of electronic hardware development and qualification.

  • Strong multi-tasking ability. May be working multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience performing Worst-Case Analysis.

  • R&D and new product development experience strongly preferred.

  • (Bonus) Experience building mobile web applications
