Statement of work / job description for power-electrical (Integration) engineer
Power-Electrical (Integration) Engineer is responsible for development, analysis, design, integration, operation and qualification of power conversion equipment and systems for shipboard applications and other applications. He will work with other engineering disciplines (software, digital mechanical, test and systems) through all the phases of the design and integration from the preliminary design through initial hardware bring-up and to the final equipment verification.
SOW AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Perform design modification of various analog/power circuits and modules including AC filters, DC capacitor drawers, EMI filters, interface PWAs, wiring assemblies and others. Required design familiarity with power conversion topologies, knowledge of electrical power components including IGBT applications, PSPICE circuit analysis applications, and ORCAD schematic capture.
2.Prepare test/integration plans and procedures to bring-up the hardware (sub-assemblies and top level cabinets), and perform integration testing.
3.Perform usual hardware/software integration steps
3.1. Configuration check
3.2. Verification of inputs/outputs
3.3. Communication check
3.4. Protection circuits and faults verification
3.5. Low power open loop integration
3.6. Open loop high power verification
3.7. Closed loop performance at low and high power
3.8. Full power/thermal verification
Hardware/software integration requires working experience with embedded systems, test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers and logic analyzers), power/analog circuits, troubleshooting techniques and knowledge of EMI (shielding, grounding, isolation, signal-power separation, power layout, filtering and EMI gaskets).
Power/Electrical (Integration) Engineer must be experienced working within high voltage environment (450 VAC, 3 phase and 1000VDC).
Technical background in software and digital is a plus.
