Pax River Field Office Research Associate (Lexington Park, MD) - ELSYS xxx

This position will be assigned to support research programs in our Lexington Park, MD (Pax River) Field Office. It is desired that the candidate possess knowledge and experience with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) business and financial operations as well as experience with commercial business operations. The candidate must be able to support business development activities including proposal assistance, business development metrics tracking, and contract expense and deliverable tracking and management. The candidate must also be able to coordinate with the Saint Mary’s and Calvert Counties Public School Systems and local and Federal Government STEM reps as part of GTRI STEM outreach strategy development.

The Pax River Field Office provides support to all GTRI Laboratories.

General Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • RAI-Bachelor’s degree focused in business management education or other related fields.
  • RAII - Master’s degree focused in business management, education or related field with the appropriate years of experience.
  • Previous experience supporting NAVAIR as a Uniformed Military, Civil Servant, or Contractor with an understanding of the DoD acquisition process.
  • Experience gathering, managing and interpreting financial data.
  • Previous office management experience.
  • Strong writing, research, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Sound decision-making ability and initiative.
  • Experience with Public Education.
  • Travel up to 10% of time.



-US citizen and hold a current Secret (or above) security clearance.

-Familiarity with NAVAIR.



-Familiarity with Foreign Military Sales (strategic business objective for the Pax River Field Office).
