Sunnyvale, California:
Analyzes and tests optical and electro-optical system and component performance (Structural-Thermal-OPtical (STOP) analysis), and provides design inputs based on the analyses. Applies research of complex optical systems to achieve desired optical manipulations. Works with LM Senior Engineers to develop a better understanding of the unique aspects of Optical Payload design and the effects of design choices on system performance

Basic Qualifications
Technical proficiency with one of the key analysis tools (NASTRAN, Zemax, Thermal Desktop, etc). Understanding of or willingness to learn attributes necessary to develop optical payloads that meet performance in the space environment. Knowledge of or willingness to learn unique performance aspects of optical payloads. Self-starter with initiative and tenacity to meet deadlines with quality products. Team-player with the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals. Effective written and verbal communication skills

Desired skills
Proficiency using multiple analysis tools (NASTRAN, Zemax, Thermal Desktop, etc). Knowledge of design tools (Creo, etc.). Experience analyzing space flight payloads. Experience analyzing performance characteristics (STOP Analysis) of Optical Payloads. Understanding of optical payload design constraints and interactions. Demonstrated potential to advance in technical and programmatic responsibilities supported by collaborations with subject matter experts in the field and challenging technical achievements
