Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program



This position is with our Advanced Development Program (ADP), known as the historic Skunk Works, in Ft Worth, Texas. We are looking for world-class talent for this position to join the 70 year tradition of creating advanced aircraft. The primary area of responsibilities includes acting as an F-35 simulation “Instructor Pilot” and event lead for business development and contractual events
Responsible for maintaining a high level of expertise on F-35 Pilot-Vehicle Interface, mission systems, and concepts of employment in realistic combat environments to support activities in the F-35 Partner Manned Tactical Simulator, LM Aeronautics Integrated Warfare Development Center, Business Development (BD) Cockpit Demonstrators, and F-35 Verification Simulator. Provides customers instruction via briefings and cockpit familiarization to achieve customers’ goals and LM Aeronautics’ strategic objectives. Assists customer development of cutting edge tactics development and performs assessments for current and future capabilities. As an instructor, responsible for supporting Business Development (BD) engagements with US & foreign military and political leaders as well as the general public
Leads PMTS events, with major tasks to include: representing LM while working directly with customers; advising F-35 Program Customer Engagement leads, US Service & Country Program Managers, and BD to develop event strategy and agenda; coordinating with LM participants; developing and managing test plan; leading daily execution & debriefings; and conducting “Lessons Learned” post-event sessions

Additionally, this person will be responsible for gaining in-depth knowledge of F-22, F-16, and new ADP platforms in order to be conversant with visiting pilots as to how the F-35 will cooperate and integrate into the tactical air forces

Additional Note: Required to support cockpit demonstrators, on occasion, both domestically and internationally. May involve helping with setting up and taking down the cockpit and exhibit. Minor physical labor including overhead lifting may be involved

- Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated operational expertise in current combat strike fighter tactical aviation (i.e., Pilot/Weapons System Officer)
- Secret clearance required to start with ability to obtain Top Secret & special access clearances

Desired skills
- Demonstrated F-35 system capabilities knowledge; 5th Generation Fighter Pilot
- Experience with joint & coalition operations
- Top Secret Clearance
- Recent combat experience
- Operational test or developmental test experience
- Weapons School Graduate (TOPGUN, MAWTS, HAVOC, USAFWS)
- Demonstrated ability as an independent, proactive leader who works well within a team, with strong oral and written communication skills, has an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles; and a proven ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with team members, internal & external customers, and senior leadership
- Ability to travel on occasion (approximately 6 - 12 times a year)
