This position is with our Advanced Development Program (ADP), known as the historic Skunk Works. We are looking for world-class talent for this position to join the 70 year tradition of creating advanced aircraft. The selected candidate will serve as the technical lead for AFSIM modeling and simulation across LM Aeronautics for both constructive and virtual simulation environments. As the Lead Developer of AFSIM for LM Aeronautics, the candidate will fill a critical role coordinating simulation development needs with all LM Business Areas. The primary responsibilities include defining simulation capability needs, developing new module requirements, and creating the 5 year roadmap plan for AFSIM enhancements.

This desired candidate shall be considered by his/her peers a subject matter expert in mission-level synthetic battle-space models; such as, JIMM, EADSIM, AFSIM or SUPPRESSOR. Must have extensive experience integrating one of these complex mission-level tools into a virtual environment with HLA/DIS interfaces. Recent experience in the execution of operational assessments of tactical aircraft is required; including an understanding of real-world sensors, weapons and integrated air defense systems (IADS) is essential. Ability to develop and define scenarios for analytical experiments and/or demonstrations is also required. This individual shall have a working understanding of current and planned technologies for USAF, USN, USMC, and US Army aviation systems, to include communication networks, command and control systems, weapons, and sensors

The individual selected must demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills to effectively interface internally across the Operational Analysis team, and Aeronautics disciplines and programs; and externally interface across Lockheed Martin Business Areas, DoD, and international customers as the Aero AFSIM SME

The individual shall have: a TOP SECRET security clearance; meet the minimum related experience with an extensive operational analysis background in modeling & simulation; the ability to comfortably interface with the simulation community; and a solid understanding mission-level simulations.
Travel on occasion

This position could be filled in either Ft Worth Texas or Palmdale California

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

AEROADP

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors or Above degree from an accredited college in a related discipline; Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Aerospace, Operations Research or related technical degree

- Professional experience of 12 to 14 years or more

- Demonstrated operational expertise in mission-level simulations; such as JIMM, SUPPRESSOR, EADSIM, or AFSIM

- Experience with and solid understanding of basic systems engineering processes and principles

- Prior experience in Virtual Simulation

- Top Secret clearance with a background investigation within the last five years is required to start with ability to obtain special access clearances

Desired skills
- Extensive AFSIM Development experience
- AFSIM Module creation previously
- HLA/DIS Interface experience with large complex mission-level OA Simulations into a Virtual Environment
- Experience comfortably interfacing with civilian government, DoD and industry leaders
- Demonstrated ability as an independent, proactive leader who works well within a team, with strong oral and written communication skills
