Data Analytics Lab, you will perform investigative research in the field of neuro-modulation and device development. Directed by Dr. Chad Bouton, and led by Dr. Theo
Zanos, candidates will work on projects involving development of novel
signal processing and machine learning methods to gain insights into:
+ Decoding and encoding mechanisms of the brain and peripheral nerves to and fromstimuli, actions and other physiological functions
+ Reinforcement learning approaches used to select neural stimulation parametersand optimize outcomes
+ Beam-forming, blind source separation, and other techniques to directionallytransmit or receive neural signals in peripheral nerves
+ Neural circuits through numerical modeling and biomarker profile analysis

+ Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Statistics. Doctorate Degree, preferred.
+ Minimum of three (3) years related experience including signal processing, analog/digital filter design, spectral analysis, and wavelets; electrical stimulation, neuro-stimulation, neural recording and transcutaneous electrode design; and analog or digital circuit design, amplifier design and adaptive filtering, required.
+ Machine learning methods - clustering, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Independent Component Analysis (ICA), Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Support Vector Machines (SVM), Feature extraction and Matlab proficiency, required.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
