Experience with designing outside cable plant for both long and short haul fiber optic systems, to include: Standards based carrier technologies; C12 to OC192; Optical Ethernet – 1G to 100G; Link budgets; Optic Terminals; Repeaters; and Multiplexing. Experience with designing inside cable plant for power, network, audio, video, RF, and control (e.g. Cat6, serial, coax, fiber; MIL and commercial connectors). Knowledge of industry standards for structured cabling as well as knowledge of installation standards. cable types, bend radius, ties and lacing etc. Experience with installation of Cable equipment, and associated routing cables, Distribution systems

Basic Qualifications
Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools. Must be responsible to work independently / solo at times on large in the field projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other network engineers
Experience in DoD authentication & encryption methods/capabilities (Taclanes (KG-175), Active Directory, GEM-X). Experience in Network Management Systems (HP, NeuralStar or Solarwinds NPM/NCM) or NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp, Sun, or Gigastore)

Desired skills
Candidate shall develop technical documents and assist in the preparation of risk analysis and provide programmatic and technical insight for the development of network solutions for assigned requirements. Candidate shall provide development/ integration engineering support to contract users

Candidate will be responsible for developing, integrating, sustaining, and operating the iC2BMC networks. Individual must be able to clearly articulate terrestrial communications issues to internal and external customer. Candidate will be expected to configure/construct terrestrial, SATCOM, and RF (MIDS-based)fault tolerant networks in a peer-to-peer configuration

Individual can solve problems at a system level. The following are experiences that are positives / pluses for the candidate, but not required for filling the position. If individual has any prior knowledge of the networks and customer organization. If candidate has knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers
