Job Details

We are seeking  Network Performance Analyst in Greenbelt, MD.

 
Summary:

Provide network engineering and analysis related to missions supported by the EOS Data Information System (EOSDIS).

 
Responsibilities:  
  • Activities shall include:
    • Network analysis and troubleshooting
    • Technical review of project documentation
    • Participation in technical meetings and reviews
    • Proposing and implementing engineering prototypes
  • Refine existing automation and network performance monitoring and measurement systems.
  • Test and evaluate candidate devices prior to deployment to operational networks.
  • Investigate and evaluate new technologies for use in performance measurements.
  • Investigate and prototype emerging network technologies that will improve performance reduce costs and mitigate risks.  

Requirements

Requirements:  

  • Experience in network analysis, network engineering, and software development.
  • Ability to work with all levels of professionals.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Having knowledge in the following areas is a plus:
    • Knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol stack and behavior.
    • Experience with network architecture design and implementation for LAN and WAN.
    • Knowledge of network security technologies, policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of network flow analysis with tools such as NetFlow, J-Flow, FlowViewer, Riverbed, perfSONAR, and Zenoss.
    • Experience in configuring various network equipment from Cisco, Juniper, Paloalto, F5 Network, A10 Networks, etc.
  • Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.  
 
Education/Experience:  
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics required.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
