Seeking a Network and Communication Systems Engineer to support to a 24/7 operations center. This multi-faceted position will assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of a multitude of systems
Some of the duties will include:
o Analyze telecommunication systems and networks performance, identify faults, and take corrective actions to restore service.
o Upon restoration of outages, investigates to determine and report root cause.
o Assist with the day to day COMSEC operations, to include key loading, documentation and user training
o Interface with a variety of customers, vendors, peers and service providers

Additional responsibilities assigned by the team lead commensurate to talents

Work schedule is day-shift, Monday through Friday, with the responsibility to occasionally provide after-hours phone or onsite support, as assigned by the team lead

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or closely related field with 2 years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
•Current TS/SCI clearance.
•Willing to travel between Boulder, Aurora, and Colorado Springs, Colorado
•Ability to work with little or no supervision and learn legacy or new systems quickly
•Understanding of routing protocols (ie OSPF and BGP)
•Familiarity with various networks and firewalls (ie Cisco, Juniper, and Sidewinder/McAfee)
•Experience with operating monitoring/analysis tools and test equipment (ie Fireberd, Fluke OptiView, HP Openview., WhatsUp Gold, Protocol Analyzer, Oscilloscope, etc)
•Knowledge in DISA, Commercial, AFCSN Comm systems and topology
•Familiarity with fabrication and testing of copper and fiber optic cablings
•General understanding and working experience within a defense industry COMSEC program
•Understanding of various encryption devices, e.g. KIV-7, KG-175, KG-250, etc, including device substitution, key and re-keying

Desired skills
•Cisco and/or Juniper certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA
•Experience working as a COMSEC Responsible Officer or with COMSEC documentation, operating instructions and job aides
•Basic system Administration skills/certifications a plus (UNIX, Linux, Windows)
•Knowledge of technical control operating records such as circuit history folders, master station logs, trouble tickets, outage and restoration records
•Circuit restoration, fault isolation, quality control testing, trend analysis, performance monitoring, and status reporting experience
•Experience using design, drawing, and engineering software (ie AutoCAD, MS Visio, etc)
•Strong interpersonal/leadership skills and experience
•Good attitude and courteous demeanor
•Strong verbal and written communications skills
•Ability to mentor and train coworkers
•CompTIA Security+ certified or the ability to obtain within 90 days of assignment
