MITRE is hosting a Career Invitational at our Rockville location for candidates experienced in the areas listed below:

Outreach & Engagement Specialist



Financial Services Cybersecurity Engineer

  • Systems security engineering

  • Information Assurance, threat assessments, & analysis

  • Risk management assessments

  • Cybersecurity in the Financial Services Industry

  • Recommending use of specific anti-tamper, anti-spoof technologies

  • Assessing and authoring of system and network security plans

  • Cyber operations

  • Cyber intelligence analysis

  • systems/software/network development, analysis and visualization

  • Experience working in a virtual environment, configuring and implementing virtual devices and machines



Lead Cybersecurity Engineer

  • Information Assurance, threat assessments, & analysis

  • Systems security engineering

  • Risk Management

  • Knowledge of and experience with anti-tamper, anti-spoof technologies

  • Assessing and authoring of system and network security plans

  • Proficiency with working in a virtual environment 

  • The ability to both directly contribute to technical mission areas as well as deep-dive into technical aspects of the work program to suggest solutions and enable outcomes. 

  • Hands-on experience with underlying technologies relevant to cyber security and the ability to combine technical knowledge with strategic vision.

  • Ability to understand and develop a threat model

  • Experience with software/OS security

  • Experience with network security

  • Understand the role of security components in a system

  • Previous project management experience



Identity and Access Management (IdAM) Cybersecurity Engineer

  • Aligning good Identity and Access Management (IdAM) concepts and processes with sound cybersecurity principles

  • Information Assurance, threat assessments, & analysis with regard to IdAM

  • Recommending use of specific anti-tamper, anti-spoof technologies

  • Experience applying information assurance and cybersecurity principles to IdAM designs

  • Familiarity with systems engineering and system-of-systems engineering principles for IdAM

  • Familiarity with Federated Identity Management (FIM) concepts and associated standards (OpenID Connect, OAuth, SAML, etc)

  • Familiarity with access control concept and associated standards (XACML, OAuth 2.0)

  • Familiarity with public Key Infrastructure (PKI) concepts and associated standards (Certificate Authorities, Relying Parties, Certificate Revocation Lists, RFC 5280, Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP), etc)

  • Experience quickly learning new technical and operational domains and adapting quickly to changing circumstances

  • Familiarity with Federal and DoD information assurance and cybersecurity policies and practices including Risk Management Framework (RMF), Certification & Accreditation Processes, Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), DoD series 8500 instructions, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) series 800 special publications (SPs)

  • Hands on experience with Identity Management Systems (Microsoft Active Directory, Computer Associates Identity Manager, IBM Tivoli Identity Manager, etc)

  • Hands on experience with PKI implementation

  • Experience working in a virtual environment, configuring and implementing virtual devices and machines

Software Development and Engineering

  • Programming and Script Development: C#, Python, Shell Scripts

  • Prototype Development

  • COTS Product Integration

  • Data Analysis and Integration

  • All project work is completed in a virtualized environment using VMware

 COTS Product Analysis, Installation, and Integration

  • COTS Product Analysis, Installation, Configuration, and Integration

  • COTS Product Capabilities Analysis

  • SIEM/SOC type/event handling type

  • Experience with VMware is an advantage

  • All project work is completed in a virrtualized environment using VMware

Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Research and Analysis

  • CDM Federal and Agency Dashboard Analysis

  • CDM Requirements and Capabilities Analysis

  • CDM Data Model Analysis

  • CDM Phase 1, 2, and 3 tool hands-on experience

  • Development of Use Cases and Demonstrations

All project work is completed in a virtualized environment using VMware

Specific duties generally include some combination of systems engineering, systems integration, outreach and communication, architecture design, research, analysis, testing, experimentation, prototyping and customer engagement to address complex questions regarding cybersecurity challenges and needs faced by MITREs customers.
