MITRE's Netcentric Infrastructure group is looking for a strong strategic and technical leader with proven success in applying technology to impact warfighter missions.  The successful candidate will be a Division level staff serving as the senior technical staff to provide technical leadership across the three Division focused areas: Nuclear Command and Control, Communications (NC3), Global Tactical Communications, and Cyber Resilient Weapon Systems, with the initial emphasis on contributing to NC2 Communications.


 


Key functions:


  • Contribute to the thought leadership and technical work program for the NC2 Communications System Engineering Project to contribute to the AF NC3 Weapon System and the NC3 Enterprise
-          Develop future NC3 vision, technology roadmap

-          Conduct technology assessments critical to the success of the Nuclear Deterrence Operation

-          Identify Innovative solutions to drastically improve warfighter capability and mitigate future threats

-          Execute analysis, modeling and simulation, or experiments to provide data-driven recommendation to top DoD decision makers to build the future NC3 Enterprise

-          Implement recommended solution and field capability to warfighters

-          As sponsors needs change, apply the above to the other Division focus areas


  • Challenge the current thinking of our sponsors and our own team to make us all better


  • As part of the Division leadership team, advance sponsor mission through technical contributions (Deliver deep technical work)

-          Understand Division strategy and shape division technical posture



-          Plan work to contribute and be the thought leaders to the other two Division focus areas: Global Tactical Communications and Cyber Resilient Weapon Systems












Required Skills:


  • Demonstrated technical expertise in a core competency aligned to P450 (RF Communications, Cyber Security, Cyber Operations, Network Architecture)


  • 15+ years of experience in technology, leadership, system development, enterprise/systems engineering and architecture development of complex systems


  • Expertise in performing concept development, strategic planning, requirements development, market research, technology feasibility and evolution studies, and acquisition support


  • Experience in technical research, system and enterprise analysis, modeling and simulation, algorithm development, technology assessment, and implementation


  • Exceptional communications skills, demonstrated ability to present and convince government sponsor non-intuitive results


  • Demonstrated ability to execute technical analyses, drive and implement solutions and achieve sponsor outcome success


  • Team player, proven success in working across organizational boundaries to deliver results

 


Preferred qualifications:


  • Domain knowledge of the Nuclear Enterprise


  • Domain knowledge of communication systems for commercial or DoD systems


  • Domain knowledge of Cyber defense/offense operations


  • Strong analytical and organizational skills


  • Experience with capabilities trade analysis, mission analysis, information assurance, systems integration, and understanding of the relationships between operational, technical, and systems architectures


  • An active TS//SCI clearance is desirable, the ability to obtain and hold one is mandatory

Min Education/ Experience:  



  • MS in EE, Communications Engineering, or Computer Science or related technical field and 15 years of related experience
