The MITRE Naval Division is focused on delivering innovative concepts, technologies and methodologies that enable current and future Naval superiority. Our Naval Aviation work program has a broad and dynamic set of projects that focus on research, systems engineering, agile acquisition, cyber security, comms engineering, experimentation, prototyping. We are seeking innovative and energetic engineers, technologists and domain experts to join our talented team in delivering valuable products and capabilities that have high impact on Naval Aviation and our National Security. You will collaborate closely with our customers and our team to identify critical problems and needs of the Navy and develop approaches to address them.


Key Functions

  • Contribute by applying engineering skills, experience and domain knowledge in performing analysis resulting in innovative solutions and well-informed recommendations that drive NAVAIRs most critical decisions

  • Provide leadership both as a technical thought leader and functionally leading projects, tasks and teams delivering capabilities and solutions to the customer

  • Collaborate across the organization in order to leverage diverse thought and solutions to our customers problems

  • Communicate with Navy seniors clearly, concisely with impact (oral and written)

  • Work in a culture that values strong technical achievers, collaborative work style and continuous learning

Required Qualifications

  • An analytical background drawn from one or more of the following areas:

  • Cyber Security (Operations and/or Systems Security Engineering)

  • Domain Modeling and Simulation and Analysis (Operations Research)

  • Electronic Warfare Systems Engineering/Analysis

  • Navy Combat/C4I Systems

  • Unmanned Aviation Systems and Platforms

  • Undersea Warfare Techniques, Tactics, Procedures and Technologies

  • Scientific/Engineering Degree

  • Secret Clearance or higher

  • Demonstrated experience in performing analytical work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Top Secret/SCI

  • Naval Aviation Domain knowledge/experience


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical,  Computer or Systems Engineering or similar field and 8 years related experience.  The candidate should possess the ability to define projects or programs greater than themselves.    Candidate understands that he/she will be responsible for work and/or customer relationship development and will acts according toand guides others towardthe proper balance of a) product depth with timeliness and b) technical improvements with programmatic constraints, even when hard compromises are required. Preferred candidates will be recognized by senior management as a thought leader.
