The College of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) invites applications for three positions in the Computer Science Department to begin in Fall 2018. The open rank position is also part of the Computer Engineering program, which is a joint effort between Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, and the applicant may choose to be part of the CS or EE department. The other two positions may choose to be part of the program if desired. The positions and postings are as follows:

Department Chair: https://careers.utrgv.edu/postings/16221
Open Rank: https://careers.utrgv.edu/postings/16222
Assistant Professor: https://careers.utrgv.edu/postings/16223

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) was established in 2013 with a regional population exceeding 3.5 million. The establishment of UTRGV built on the assets and institutional knowledge of two legacy institutions, The University of Texas Brownsville and The University of Texas Pan American, expanding into a multi-campus institution spanning the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) with the Regional Academic Health Centers in Edinburg and Harlingen and the addition of a medical school (the UTRGV School of Medicine).

The primary aims of UTRGV are to expand educational opportunity to the entire Rio Grande Valley and foster the success of RGV students through high-quality teaching, as well as participation in the global research community. To that end, the University has received broad public and financial support. In particular, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is a participant in the Permanent University Fund, with the University of Texas System Board of Regents having allocated approximately $500 million to-date to UTRGV. To date, UTRGV has seen continuous increases in student enrollment and is recognized nationally for its impact on student socio-economic mobility (ranked 4th out of 369 selective public colleges). Further, UTRGV is the largest university in the United States to have a majority Hispanic student population.
