One key role of MITREs national security work is to generate innovative concepts for addressing critical national security gaps.  To better understand those gaps and to assess the utility of emerging technologies for solving mission problems, high fidelity analysis of advanced systems and operational scenarios is used.  System analysts are needed  with the technical breadth, system sense, and research skills to develop analysis plans, use math and physics based analysis tools, assess results, and extract key lessons learned to inform and guide concept development.











Required Qualifications:


 


  • Possess strong technical background in physics, applied mathematics, aerospace or mechanical engineering with a desire to do cross-disciplinary work assessing concepts for novel national security systems and sensors in operational contexts. 

  • Experienced with performing physics based modeling and simulation and to apply those tools to addressing research questions

  • Experience with  understanding simulation results, identifying areas for additional focus or validation, and extracting critical lessons learned is required. 

  • Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance which will require US citizenship.

 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • A recent PhD is desirable, but candidates with a recent MS will be considered as well. 

Minimum Qualifications:




  • BS and 3 years related experience.
