Job Details

Military Aftermarket Engineering is looking for a talented and motivated senior engineering to support the maintenance & overhaul repair development, specializing in airframe structures. This position reports directly to the Military Sustaining Engineering Chief.
• Prepare Overhaul & Repair procedures of airframe components and the installation of Modification Kits. Provide Blueprint interpretation, Non-conforming Material Review, Interpretation & development of Overhaul & Repair instructions, aircraft specific repair criteria based on Field reported damage or, Maintenance Engineering Calls (MEC). This is not limited to airframe structural elements, but includes Propulsion, Xmsn & Drive Systems (Dynamics), and Rotors, Hyd/Mech Flight Control, Landing Gear and Mission Systems components
• Provide removal & replacement procedures of airframe structural elements. This includes detail primary structural elements and all major CP Tier-sections of the acft build, as well as, the preparation, assembly and installation requirements/methodology
• Identify local manufacturing requirements, which include tooling concepts & design, detail component machining, S/M forming, heat treating and protective finishes (plating)
• Review legacy and current design/ modification drawings for errors, interferences, component design improvement and spares capabilities, as related to in-service aircraft. This includes identification of preferred spares that will satisfy the requirements across the multiple Product lines
• Develop and submit Manufacturing Engineering Request (MER) ORI/OREI, DRB formats, for documentation of recommendations, discrepancies, and corrective actions

Basic Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technology, relevant technical discipline, or equivalent composite/aviation manufacturing/repair experience

Desired skills
• Must have minimum of 10 years related technical experience with Sikorsky’s production or repair processes
• Experience in military field maintenance (Unit/Intermediate/Depot level) Knowledge in Field Maintenance and Repair (Standard and Battle Damage) to include the use of Task Manuals and Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (TM/DMWR)
• Broad knowledge of the various engineering systems and databases (i.e. Electronic Record Center, MatrixOne, Solumina, Design Record Book, OREI)
• Be familiar with design and tooling requirements, Sikorsky Specifications (SS) and other documentation
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral required. Team player and motivator skills required to establish and sustain a lean culture
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, & Access) required
