Job Details

Develops and evaluates testing/calibration systems for electronic/physical equipment.

Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating measurement equipment, calibration standards, and special devices.

Develops and performs trend data analysis for laboratory standards.

Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.

Specifies, defines, and writes new calibration, test, and other maintenance procedures.

Performs metrology quality assurance functions as required to measure technician and laboratory performance.

Provides technical metrology training to technicians as required

Resolves technical, procedural, and material problems working with the technicians, government representatives, Naval calibration entities, commercial vendors, and other Lockheed Martin organizations for calibration and repair of Test and Measurement Equipment.

Maintains information processing applications to manipulate, store and report laboratory information using Microsoft Office tools to manipulate, store and report laboratory information on MS SharePoint

Mathematically proves and documents commercial and locally developed calibration software applications in accordance with established proofing procedures.

Analyzes, designs, programs, tests and deploys automatic calibration programs using various applications including Fluke’s MetCal, Northrop Grumman’s SureCal, and National Instruments’ LabView.

Maintains NVLAP accreditation by analyzing system errors, interprets and utilizes ILAC accredited reports, develops and maintains accreditation databases and analysis tools, develops and maintains uncertainty budgets.

Creates a team setting that encourages innovation, creativity, and initiative

Must have demonstrated ability to work independently; must have demonstrated ability to work in a highly structured teaming environment, when required; perform electrical/physical metrology measurements for the purpose of engineering analysis; troubleshoot and resolve calibration system problems; develop metrology measurement techniques and procedures; and give technical assistance to others. Demonstrated leadership skills are highly desired

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Basic Qualifications
-Minimum of five years of documented calibration laboratory experience
-five years’ experience troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
-Ability to perform electrical/physical metrology measurements for the purpose of engineering analysis
-Physical/Dimensional calibration experience
-Ability to develop metrology measurement techniques and procedures
-Ability to give technical assistance to others
-Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance

-Strong communications skills
-Excellent computer skills. e.g. MS Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, SureCal, Metcal
