Serve as a systems engineer/analyst conducting space control and Space Situational Awareness (SSA) analyses and modeling/simulation activities supporting the Space Surveillance Network (SSN) and the Department of Defense (DoD) space control mission. Develop, test, and use laboratory-based modeling and simulation tools to perform these analyses.



Key Functions:



Serve on a dynamic team assessing the utility and performance of space control sensors, SSA command & control (C2), and Space Battle Management C2 (BMC2) concepts and systems against sponsor requirements. Conduct SSA enterprise-level architecture trade studies. Analyze and model sensor concepts, develop sensor configurations and scenarios, identify performance measures, and conduct analyses using relevant simulation tools. Make software code changes and enhancements as needed to improve tool capabilities. Develop technical reports and present to stakeholders on analysis results, options, and recommendations.












Required Qualifications:


BS Degree in Systems Engineering or relevant discipline


General knowledge of radar and electro-optical sensor systems and computer-based modeling and simulation.
Experience using computer languages including Java, C, C++ and MATLAB. Knowledge of data structures, common operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows), object-oriented languages, and modeling and simulation tools.
Excellent technical writing and presentation skills. Self-starter capable of working in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:


Experience with sensor/architecture analysis and modeling/simulation.
Knowledge of SSN sensors, tasking, and Concepts of Operation (CONOPs).
Knowledge of SSA C2 systems and experience with sensors/C2 architecture integration, analysis, and modeling/simulation. Knowledge of Joint Space Operations Center functions including catalog maintenance, conjunction assessment, and space event detection/processing
Knowledge of Space BMC2 systems and experience with threat assessment, kill-chain, and counter-space analysis and modeling/simulation.
Experience using computer data structures, object-oriented languages, and modeling and simulation tools.
Knowledge of associated space control modeling and simulation software.
