This position is for a Mechanism Design Engineer. The successful applicant will use their technical expertise to develop innovative and ingenious solutions to highly complex problems. The candidate shall have advanced and thorough knowledge in mechanisms, landing gear, actuators, hydraulics, stress and deflection of structures, bearing selection and surface treatments with a broad knowledge of all related disciplines

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Develop, test, and validate new or existing mechanism designs
• Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work
• Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans
• Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams, management and the customer
• Support manufacturing, ground/flight test and customer operating locations
• Plan and initiate their own work, lead teams, and mentor less experience engineers
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions to determine root cause and corrective action
• The candidate may function in a project leadership role where they manage system performance, budget and schedule

Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected applicant must have a secret clearance with a background investigation within the last 5 years


Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor or above degree in an engineering discipline
• Experience in mechanism design and analysis
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool

Desired skills
• Experience with CATIA V5
• Experience in landing gear design
• Experience with hand stress analysis for initial part layout
• Excellent writing and communication skills
* Bachelor's Degree in a technical Engineering discipline with minimum of 14 plus years of experience
* Master's Degree in a technical Engineering Discipline with minimum of 12 plus years of experience
