Job Details

Manager of the Drafting and Design group for the Valley Forge ICBM and Strategic Systems LOB. Manage design and drafting team efforts, ensure technical program execution and deliver products consistent with program needs, provide technical oversight and mentoring, and promote standard technical processes and best practices. Perform management duties including scheduling, tasking and reporting status. Perform Leader duties including partnering with Program and Functional leadership for performance assessments, career development, promotions and compensation, and training and technical development. Fill role as Reports to Manager for the Mechanical Design Engineers at Valley Forge within the Mechanical and Propulsion Engineering directorate of the Engineering Organization

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with at least 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree. Must have current Air Force program experience. Familiarity with the AF Reentry LOB program customer, requirements, hardware, and/or analyses. Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and lead groups of engineering personnel, with proven leadership attributes
Strong technical skill in aerospace mechanical engineering, and/or full
life cycle (requirements definition, design, analysis, hardware/software integration, support of procurement, fabrication, integration/test, and delivery) experience for mechanical assemblies. Extensive experience in mechanical hardware design with Creo. Hands-on hardware fabrication and assembly experience. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated commitment to development and deployment of productivity/performance improvements and leveraging new technologies

Desired skills
Considered a technical leader in mechanical design, analysis,
integration, and test. Previously demonstrated leadership
experience of a small group or team. Demonstrated ability for technical mentoring. Ability to work closely with engineering functional and program management, and with other Mechanical Design leaders. Demonstrated knowledge across all disciplines in Structures and Thermal Products, other engineering directorates, and manufacturing
Demonstrated ability to provide personal and technical leadership and guidance. Ability and willingness to work functional duties with limited budget, requiring occasional extended hours
Green Belt certification
Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, propose and manage budgets, schedules and resources
Demonstrated performance equivalent to Level 4
