Job Details

Thermostructural analysis mechanical engineer in the hardware engineering team responsible for development of mechanical, structural, optical, thermal and electronic systems and assemblies. Responsible for research and development of viable thermal and structural solutions for systems and components. Experienced with relevant analytic tools for thermal and structural analysis. Create and correlate analytical models to provide guidance for product development. Functions also include performance, structural and thermal tests and measurements. Reports and documents product structural and thermal performance. Assesses design merits with regard to product specification and reliability

Basic Qualifications
BS or MS degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Demonstrated strength in either thermal or structural analysis with a desire to learn more
Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills for generating test plans, test reports, documentation, and potentially proposals are necessary. Mature computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance. Ability to obtain interim Secret security clearance,

Desired skills
Experience with FEM solvers, especially NX Nastran 8.x or higher and FEM pre/postprocessors
Experience with thermal analysis software such as Patran and NX
Demonstrated thermal or structural test planning and execution skills
