Job Details

This position is located in Denver Colorado and supports the Air Force Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) Program. This Mechanical Engr. Staff position supports the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Post Boost Propulsion System (PBPS) Structures Lead
- Requirements generation support, conceptual design, drawing and analysis review, preliminary design review and approval, inputs to the preliminary design report, and resolution of technical issues
- PBP Structure propulsion system design
- Interface definition with Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C)/Avionics, propulsion subcontractor, RS/RV, boost propulsion and ordnance
- Propulsion system modeling, preliminary design and drawing generation, including the interface control document (ICD)
- Thermal analysis of structure, including external launch and ascent environments, propulsion exhaust induced environment and component heating
- Drawing and analysis review and approval
- Technical oversight of subcontractor(s) performing the PBPS PDR-level design for TMRR
- Inputs to preliminary design Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) report
- Resolution of technical issues
This position will start in September of 2017, and is contingent upon the GBSD TMRR award in September of 2017

Basic Qualifications
- Structures designer with CREO
- Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Principles
- Knowledge of Requirements development and management
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork with internal customers
- Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
- Proficiency with standard documentation and presentation tools
- Experience with mechanical engineering missile systems
-Experience with chemical propulsion system design and analysis

Desired skills
- Experience in post boost structures
- Experience with US Air Force Weapon Systems Programs
- Experience with US Strategic Systems
- Experience with Missile Weapons Systems
- Experience with USAF Minuteman III Acquisition and Sustainment
- Experience with system engineering missile systems
- Broad Experience of Systems Engineering life Cycle process and tools.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
- Experience with DOORS
- Experience with SysML, System Modeling Tools (MagicDraw) and Archiecture Views (DoDAF)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project).
- Demonstrated ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team members.
- Effectively manage change
