Job Details

This position Is located in Denver Colorado and supports the Air Force Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) Program. The candidate will support the overall AVE IPT developing requirements and plans for the vehicle Support Equipment (SE). SE, also referred to as Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) includes equipment used to test, transport, integrate, and assembly Flight and Test equipment. The selected candidate will perform analysis and assessments of new and modified designs for missile configurations including numerous transportation systems, Missile Suspension System, and various other SE. The candidate will be required to perform assessments for trade studies as well as perform preliminary designs for AVE assembly, shipping and handling fixtures and tooling. This position will start in September of 2017, and is contingent upon the GBSD TMRR award in September of 2017

Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork with internal customers
- Extensive experience, in the development of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) and Special Tooling (ST) used for the integration, test, transport and handling of high value critical hardware.
-Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis
-CAD (Creo, I-Deas, etc.) modeling, drafting and release proficiency
-Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 including GD&T as well as industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems
-Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary product development teams
-Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Desired skills
-Experience working with missile systems
-Creo Parametric CAD System and EPDM experience
-Technical Lead and/or lead of small teams experience
-Design for manufacturability experience
-Certified LM-21 green belt or equivalent Lean/Six Sigma training
