• Collaboration/Management of team designs and analysis review – compatibility with the booster elements and associated technical data, review of external analyses such as trajectory performance, structural analyses, dynamic analyses, thermal analyses, etc. in compliance with requirements and interfaces.
• Assess system related PDR level design and analyses, such as boost propulsion contribution to Range/Payload, Trajectory, Thrust Vector Control and motor-level performance
• Support the team in developing products and deliverables required for the program System Requirements Review, Trade studied for Cost Capability TIM, System Function Review and Preliminary Design Review.

Basic Qualifications
•This position is contingent upon the anticipated proposal win and subsequent contract award for the Special Programs Line of Business. Contract Award anticipated for early summer 2018.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI level clearance is a requirement for this position

* Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or equivalent
* 9 years of experience to include mechanical flight hardware design, modeling and drafting
* Experience with mechanical layout of spacecraft configuration
* Experience with conceptual design of spacecraft like human spacecraft, habitats, satellites, and planetary vehicles
* Experience with internal and external interfaces
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation including machining, fabrication and assembly
* Interest in development and deployment of productivity improvements and leveraging new technologies
* Proficiency with Mechanical CAD tool and design
* Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Desired skills
Experience using CAD model as record of authority (Data Set Rating 4 and/or 6)
Creo Parametric and WindChill MCAD tools
Coordination of subsystem design and understanding of the interdependencies between components/subsystems and ability to quickly comprehend and communicate impact of proposed design changes
Experience with test methods, planning and execution
Additive manufacturing experience
Technical leadership experience
Experience with schedule and budget management
Familiar with prior studies of Cis-lunar mission design
Familiarity with LMSSC's Model Based Systems Engineering approach, including virtual prototyping
Experience with developing composite spacecraft structures
Knowledge in propulsion and mechanisms/deploy less design/development
Awareness of structural and thermo-elastic analysis tools and techniques
Systems engineering experience in spacecraft mechanical products
Experience as Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) for missile, spacecraft or aircraft structures and/or ordnance products
Strong mentoring skills and experience
Demonstrated knowledge of other disciplines including stress, dynamics, thermal analysis, production, ATLO, electronics, systems engineering
Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 including GD&T and tolerance analysis
