This position is located in Denver and supports the Air Force Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) Program. This position will start in September of 2017, and is contingent upon the GBSD TMRR award in September of 2017.This Mechanical Engineer Sr. position supports Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Flight Test Equipment (FTE) system design to perform tasks for the FTE Element. The candidate will support the development of the FTE to a preliminary design which consists of a Flight Termination System (FTS), Range Tracking System (RTS), Missile Telemetry System (MTS), and the associated avionics and/or electrical ground support equipment (EGSE). The candidate will create 3D solid models in CREO for FTE components located throughout the missile. The candidiate will support development of the FTE interfaces of the electronics components to the missile system and EGSE including working closely with the cabling and harnessing design group. The candidate will support trade studies on FTE components packaging design approaches and will provide technical data for informal and formal Design Reviews documentation and presentations. The candidate will coordinate with thermal, dynamic, stress, reliability, EMC, and survivability analyses to assure compliant FTE designs. The candidate will support development of statement of works and specifications for sub contract suppliers. Interface with Parts Engineering, provide producible designs that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements, and work within an Integrated Product Team environment. The candidate will prepare all applicable drawings and documentation needed in support of Preliminary Design

Basic Qualifications
BSME or equivalent experience
Electronics Packaging Experience for missile environments
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with Creo and/or Pro-E CAD design

Desired skills
Knowledge of advanced packaging technologies including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), advanced materials and parts
Experience working on the development of avionics components (e.g., GPS Translator, LNAs, UHF, S-band, L-band, PDU, batteries, encoders, encryptors,filters)
Working knowledge of the following:
1. Experience in Electronic Packaging of missile avionics in a model-based environment
2. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
3. CREO Solid modeling and drafting or similar 3D CAD modeling software
4. Experience with Zuken, SAP/IRIS/EPDM
5. Drafting techniques and manufacturing processes.
6. Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc)
