This position is contingent upon a future contract award (expected in Q4 of 2017) supporting a Missiles & Fire Control program within the Engineering & Technology function, as well as Customer funding for this position

Materials engineer that will participate in multi-disciplined engineering design teams working to develop various military systems. Provides technically sound, cost effective and timely engineering solutions for the application of materials, processes and finishes. Conducts trade studies, materials lab tests, and analyses as necessary to select and qualify optimum materials and processes. Work with subcontractors, quality, procurement, and other engineering disciplines to provide engineering solutions for vendor supplied items to enable company to meet schedule commitments and performance requirements

The Locale: Orlando is a city in the Central Florida area. This region is a great place to live and to raise a family. Central Florida offers lots of attractive residential housing options. The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest

Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
-Experience in hardware design and development
-Experience in Materials Science
-Candidate must have experience selecting and testing of materials and fabrication processes, both in the development and use of selected materials
-Experience validating the performance characteristics and suitability of new engineering materials through analysis and laboratory testing
-Basic knowledge of manufacturing methods
-Candidate must be able to obtain a Security Clearance

Desired skills
-Skilled in tolerance analysis, GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) and precision mechanical design and documentation
-Experience with Pro/E CREO 3D CAD modeling or similar
-Radar absorbing materials experience
-Skilled in all Microsoft Office products
-Excellent verbal & written communication skills are a necessity
