Job Details

The successful candidate will be deployed to the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program working as an ordnance design engineer. Job duties include responsibility for the design, manufacture, procurement, and test for ordnance/pyrotechnic components used for initiation, separation, and destruct systems; also includes mechanism ordnance components and assemblies. The job requires coordinating with customers, ordnance suppliers and test facilities, other related disciplines including manufacturing, subcontracts, quality, structure design and analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities. Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of ordnance components. Perform trade studies to select appropriate design solution. Develop performance product specifications and statements of work (SOWs) / supplier data requirements for ordnance components. Provide requirements flow-down, verification, and maintain technical baseline at the suppliers. Evaluate, help, select, and then manage the technical aspects of the procurement from the selected ordnance device. Travel will be required

Basic Qualifications
* BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related technical discipline
* Ability to conduct failure investigations and determine root cause of manufacturing and test anomalies
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint)
*Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
* Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

Desired skills
*Experience in design, development and manufacture of ordnance components and assemblies.
*Experience in subcontract /project management of sub-tier suppliers
*Familiarity with industry standards for design and testing of ordnance devices
*Materials and process for manufacture for ordnance devices
* Test experience (vibration, thermal, pyro shock, etc.)
