The Mechanical & Propulsion Engineering Organization is seeking a Subject Matter Expert in the area of RF & Electronics Packaging for terrestrial and space applications to support the RF Payload Center of Excellence (CoE). The selected candidate will be responsible for architecting and implementing advance packaging techniques in support of R&D, commercial, classified, and military applications at the Lockheed Martin campus in Littleton, Colorado. The candidate will research and develop highly advanced new applications resulting in new products/business opportunities and will oversee technical development across all efforts within the CoE portfolio. Will serve as the consultant to management in long-range planning concerning new or projected areas of technical research and advancements. Prime external spokesperson for the company on highly significant matters relating to research, engineering matters, programs, and technical capabilities
Candidate will be an integral team member in supporting IRAD activities with a major focus in successfully supporting the implementation of the payload Strategy of the RF CoE

Specific job duties include proposal support, payload architectural studies, work package estimating, planning, development, design, review, mentoring, and development of new and advance RF Hybrids and Enclosures. Candidate will support and represent the Packaging Organization during critical progam design reviews, independent reviews and any high level technical reviews of RF products.
The candidate will provide technical data for informal and formal Design Review documentation and presentations to executive staff and external customers. Will provide consultation to and coordination of thermal, dynamic, stress, reliability, EMC, and survivability analyses to assure compliant designs. Support manufacturing and test to minimizing cycle time. Lead problem resolution and corrective action activities. Interface with Parts Engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing regarding material quality and vendor performance. Provide producible designs that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements, working successfully in an Integrated Product Team environment
Candidate will be looked to support hardware failures, manufacturing issues and non-conformances. Responsible for leading investigations, root cause analysis and issuing guidance and white papers supporting technical position. Candidate will establish design guidance in the area of RF packaging
Candidate will be an expert in the area of RF packaging and will work closely with industry to research, shape and implement new products

The candidate should be willing to work occasional overtime

Basic Qualifications
- Electronics packaging experience specializing in high reliability spaceflight electronics, specifically with regard to RF communication payloads and hermetic hybrid packages
- Knowledge of electronics packaging workflow, tools, processes, and electronic components
- Experienced user of ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Experienced in 3D solid modeling and drafting
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials related to PC board and box design and fabrication including the principles behind design for manufacture (DFM)
- Technical lead for advanced development

Desired skills
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment
- Experienced user of Pro-E/CREO and SAP/IRIS/PDM
- Knowledge of advanced packaging technologies including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), advanced materials and parts
- Experience working on the development of spaceflight receivers, amplifiers, High Voltage Electronics and Hybrid assemblies
- Self-starter with previous experience in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and lead groups of engineering personnel
- Project Management experience including; Earned Value, Basis of Estimate generation, Risk and Opportunity Management, Change Management, Planning)
- Experienced user of Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Power Point, Excel, Project)
