Job Details

Support Targets and Countermeasures Program as a Mechanical Engineer. The candidate will be required to design and draft mechanical systems for aerospace hardware and/or ground structures compliant with customer requirements and LMSSC best practices as part of a multi-functional design team to support the Targets and Countermeasures Program principal engineers in activities related to developing, revising, and releasing engineering drawings. Key activities will include implementing designs necessary to complete drawing and model changes, incorporating redlines, federating parts and materials, coordinating changes necessary for release in EPDM, and related supplier oversight and support required to successfully enable product delivery. Will also participate in table top reviews, manufacturing reviews to initiate procurement, capture ICD requirements, and meet PDR and CDR requirements for these systems. Some travel may be required

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college/university
MCAD experience
Hands-on hardware experience
Knowledge of hardware manufacturing processes (machining, welding, heat treatment, surface treatment, assembly, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent Oral/Written Communication skills
Fast learner with good problem solving abilities
Able to work in a distributed and virtual team environment across many sites. Ability to travel
Interim secret clearance required prior to start

Desired skills
Candidate should have an understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts. Missile/aerospace related education/exposure. Knowledge of Mechanical Design principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); Fluency in Mechanical modeling and analysis tools, such as I-DEAS, Pro-E, Uni-graphics, Autocad or similar tools. Fundamental understanding of structures and materials. Familiarity with Pro Engineer/Wildfire/Creo Elements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
