Mid-level Hardware Engineer to work in a teaming environment on all aspects of definition and development of hardware for full life-cycle of mobile and fixed facility systems. Candidate will support the development of technical aspects of the electronics and fabrication/build of mobile and fixed facility systems. Candidate will support: early system concepts development, hardware architecture definition, trade studies, specifications of COTS computers and networks, definition of power and systems HVAC requirements, definition of communications system interface, system hardware / software integration, planning and execution of system field deployment, and sustained O&M field activities. Candidate must have a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts, in the field and be able work under general direction, independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Candidate must have the ability provide solutions to a wide range of technical problems. Solutions must be imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. Candidate must have good documentations skills to support completion of Engineering and other general Documentation

Basic Qualifications
- Understand principles of Workstation and Equipment rack design
- Experience with Engineering design processes (preliminary and final design and with the design review process.)
- Fundamental Electrical System design
- Understanding of System Power (load) and cooling analysis
- Able to develop Hardware Engineer documentation (PDR, CDR, Concept of Operations, SOWs, ICDs, SCDs and status reports.)
- Equipment installation in Mobile and Fixed facilities
- Troubleshooting skills and equipment testing
- AutoCad design / Drawing experience.
- Must be able to travel on short duration trips throughout the year
- Researching and selecting networking equipment / Developing Bill of Materials
- Big Picture Concepts associated Systems Engineering background
- Understanding of Requirements, CONOPs, Architecture/Design

Desired skills
- System analysis (FEA, thermal, Acoustic, Center of Gravity and Environmental (lighting, EMI/EMC)
- Understand principles of Workstation and Equipment rack design
- Possess CAD admin - librarian experience
- Mobile system design
- Experience with Engineering design processes (preliminary and final design and with the design review process.)
- Familiar with Manufacturing / product development processes (Work Orders, Quality Inspections, and Material Control etc.)
- Experience with developing cable harnesses and terminating fiber cables
- Familiar with Equipment – System start up procedures
- Developing project plans (Hazard mitigation and Electrostatic discharge control)
- System – networking design (Functional, Preliminary and Final)
- Networking equipment (routers, switches, servers, RAIDs etc.) installation experience
- Performing site – infrastructure assessments
- Project coordination skills (with Facilities, Customers and Engineering teams)
