Lockheed Martin seeks a Mechanical Product Design Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie to support a new development and/or production support initiative on a new emerging program and/or a MFC legacy program

For the development efforts, the Mechanical Product Design Engineer will perform new detailed design and layout work, generate solid 3D models, create and release 2D drawings, and perform tolerance analyses. Additional effort may included hardware integration and test support for fielded / demonstrated assets

For the production support efforts, the Mechanical Product Design Engineer will upgrade/update existing 3D models/2D drawings of hardware due to supplier obsolescence, affordability initiatives, and design optimization, and provide hardware fabrication support. Travel may be required to provide hardware fabrication/integration support at LM's production facility in Camden, Arkansas

Other notable tasks include:

-Development of 3D drawing models and creation/release of 2D engineering drawings using 3D CAD Software, Pro/Engineer (CREO-3)
-Generation of Interface Control Drawings (ICDs)
-Generation of Instructional Engineering Releases (IERs) documents
-Collaborate / Coordinate with other Mechanical Engineering (Structures, Thermal and M&P) and technical disciplines (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Product Support), Procurement (Materials and Subcontract Management), Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, and product line suppliers / vendors
-Provide engineering liaison effort to support hardware fabrication, assembly, integration, and test tasks, including production process reviews and attendance of supplier audits

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth

Basic Qualifications
-Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance
-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably engineering focused (Mechanical, Aerospace, etc.)
-Must have the ability to travel as it may be required to support the hardware Production Operations integration facility in Camden, Arkansas
-Knowledge of mechanical drawing standards
-Experience with detail, assembly, and installation type drawings using PRO/Engineer (PTC CREO-3) software
-Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, capable of working in an inclusive, team environment
-The candidate should have exposure to Material Review Board (MRB) type experience, where disposition of hardware discrepancy reports will be required by engineering

Desired skills
-Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Strong organizational skills
