This position is for a Subsystem Installation Design Engineer for an advanced supersonic air vehicle. The candidate will apply advanced technical principles, theories and concepts to develop innovative and ingenious solutions to highly complex problems. The candidate should have advanced knowledge of most subsystems including: avionics, fuel, hydraulics, secondary power and environmental control subsystems. The candidate will coordinate efforts across a wide range of functional organizations, such as Airframe Design, Quality Assurance, Planning, Tooling, Structural Analysis, Materials & Processes, Flight Sciences, Test and Manufacturing

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Development, test, and validation of new and modified subsystem designs
• Creation and/or modification of primary and secondary structure with 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations
• Creation and/or modification of system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures, statements of work, trade studies, and component/ground/flight test plans
• Coordination with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams, management and the customer
• Technical engineering support for manufacturing, installation and testing at Lockheed Martin and external supplier facilities
• May serve as the prime technical contact for vehicle subsystems
• May function in a project leadership role where they manage system performance, budget and schedule

Selected applicant does not require a security clearance to start, but will be required to obtain a secret clearance after starting

Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or above degree in an Engineering Discipline
• Experience with aircraft subsystem design
• Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool

Desired skills
• Experience in CATIA V5
• Experience with metallic and composite design
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with hand stress analysis
