Description: Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:  Generate design concepts, preliminary designs, cost estimates, 3D CAD models, structural and thermal analysis, specifications, final detailed designs, and fabrication drawings;  Purchase materials and components;  Coordinate fabrication, assembly, installation, and integration;  Set up and conduct experiments;  Prepare progress reports, O&M manuals, and design review presentations;  Develop white papers and project proposals.  Will work with a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineers.

Education: BSME required; MSME preferred. 

Experience: At least 7 years mechanical engineering design and analysis.  Broad-based experience in several mechanical disciplines:  machine design, structures, kinematics, vibration, thermal design and analysis, fluid flow, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronic packaging.  Good working knowledge of material properties and machine shop fabrication processes.  Prior experience with ruggedized military systems is preferred.

Skills:  Must be proficient with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and structural/thermal FEA.

Other: Must be US citizen able to obtain DoD security clearance.  Selection process will include passing a pre-employment background screening.
