Perform tasks associated with designing and maintaining CSEDS combat system interface configurations and switching control schemes. Responsibilities will include generating functional block diagrams, site switching designs, switch assignment/usage databases, and system interface design products associated with Aegis Combat System development, operation, and maintenance at the Combat System Engineering Development Site (CSEDS) and for the SPY 1A Production Test Facility (PTF)

Evaluate impact to CSEDS Aegis Combat System configuration and switching infrastructure from Systems Engineering design changes and upgrades, including baseline system definitions, equipment lists, switching system upgrades, and equipment modifications (e.g. Site Change Notices, field changes, ordalts, etc.)

Develop site switching equipment requirements and generate switching diagrams using Boolean Logic and fundamental electrical, RF, and fiber optic design principles. Coordinate drafting services as required. Manage working and archival computing environment for configuration management of switch diagrams

Evaluate Commercial and Military Standards, Specification Control Drawings, and COTS documentation as required for components related to Aegis Combat System cable assemblies.

Generate and maintain Site Installation Drawings (SIDs) and CSED Site Cable Block Diagrams (CBD) for O&M and baseline development projects as required. Coordinate drafting services as required. Manage working and archival environment for configuration management of SIDs and CBDs

Interpret CSEDS cable designs in the form of Cable Running Sheets (CRS). Archive system designs in a cable database for implementation of site configuration upgrades

Interpret network diagrams depicting copper and Fiber Optic Ethernet routers, switches, bridges, blade servers, and media converters as part of site switching infrastructure and baseline testing configurations

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent/related field
• At least 2 years engineering experience in concept development, system design, performance requirements definition, integration and test of large real-time systems
• Ability to attain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance
• Availability to travel domestically as required by the supported program (up to 100% travel or TDY)
• Flexibility to work non-standard work shifts as required by the supported program

Demonstrated strong teamwork, communication (both verbal and written), and presentation skills

Demonstrated motivation with strong initiative to accept new technical challenges in complex system engineering assignments

The Site Combat System Integration Engineer role requires strong communication skills for frequent interaction with program management, IPT leads, and internal LM and USN customers. Candidate will have strong general electrical design skills and knowledge of RF and fiber optic cabling, waveguide and associated hardware. Basic knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, the OSI Model, and blade server environments is assumed. Site product development requires proficiency with an assortment of tools including AutoCAD, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, with working knowledge of MS Visual Basic scripting, MS Access Database and/or SQL relational database
