*Position will start immediately and hired candidate will work a similar assignment on the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program pre-award. In the event an award is not received, the position will continue with similar work supporting the FBM program.*

This position Is located in Denver Colorado and supports the Air Force Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) Program. This System Engineer Staff position supports the overall Weapons Systems Engineering Integration and Test (WSEIT) Team by executing dedicated Mass Properties Engineering duties. Duties of a Systems Engr Staff Mass Properties Engineer includes; calculation of mass properties by hand or solid modeling systems , updating and maintaining mass properties databases, performing basic trade studies, make presentations at program design reviews, leading mass properties audits, developing test procedures and performing mass properties measurements, then reducing and interpreting measurement data into final user values, facilitating Mass Properties Control Boards and weight reduction teams, documenting and publishing all types of analysis reports, and organizing and leading the mass properties effort of junior engineers This position will start in September of 2017, and is contingent upon the GBSD TMRR award in September of 2017

Basic Qualifications
• Experience performing mass properties analysis with verification methods and equipment, to determine weight, center of gravity, mass moments of inertia, and/or products of inertia from assemblies down to the component level; tracking changes impacting mass properties; preparing and/or presenting mass properties reports and supporting design reviews
• Demonstrate an understanding of and interactions of other mechanical analysis groups including stress, structural loads and/or dynamics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion and power systems, as well as subsystem designers to promote mass properties efficient design alternatives
• Significant experience developing mass properties math model and using mass properties database, and/or analysis tools
• Experienced with measurement procedure development and/or data reduction

Desired skills
-Experience with US Air Force Weapon Systems Programs
- Experience with US Strategic Systems
- Experience with Missile Weapons Systems
-Experience as a key contributor or as a lead for weight control and reduction efforts
-Ability to write Mass Properties procedures, practices and/or specifications
-Good written (preparing monthly or quarterly weight status reports) and oral communication (presenting mass properties summaries to management and customers)
-Experience with configuration assessment and prediction of mass properties based on preliminary design models as well as the evolving released design
-Experience working on integrated product team, interacting with other engineering disciplines, technicians, subcontractors, and customer.
-Supervising mass properties functions, determining tasks priorities and scheduling work, working with integrated product teams and interacting with engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and customers. Interface with senior program and customer management including advising on critical technical issues and their relationship to technical and programmatic performance
-An understanding of statistical methods of combining error sources, assessing confidence levels, and general descriptive statistics
-Experience with Mathcad and or Matlab
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project).
- Demonstrated ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team members and the ability to manage change
-Experience with the responsibility of supporting and being the POC, or lead of a group of engineers
