In support of Orion Program, position performs ATLO System Integration & Manufacturing Engineering engineering roles and responsibilities for the Orion Avionics, Power, and Wiring IPT with advanced knowledge of the design, build, and test of electronics subassemblies.

Planning Control Point Flow for Major Assemblies

Planning and execute Long Lead analysis and integration

Coordination of Subcontract requirements into BOM and CFE BOMs. Works OV enclosures as required

Incorporating Engineering impacts for Class I and Class II changes as well as ECON coordination

Create detailed manufacturing work instructions and production orders for assembly, integration, and test operations.

Approve and manage extensive Bills of Materials over multiple end items and next higher usage

Coordinate with LMSSC electronics manufacturing facilities for design to build translation, issue resolution, status, process improvement, risk mitigation and reduction

Likely support to Kennedy Space Center ATLO activities with minor travel and on site responsibility and ownership of discreet assembly activity.

This role will support the rollout of VE-CAMS SAP manufacturing soution for the Denver/Houston Orion manufacturing engineering team

Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects

Will be responsible for major assemblies within the Orion Demand Management organization and the Orion Avionics/Power/Wiring team

Responsibilities begin at Design and include coordination with Procurement, Subcontracts and Production teams working within the SSC Production ConOps

Knowledge of development of manufacturing work instructions, routings, product structure, and manufacturing bill of materials within SAP or other type of database. Experienced in the review of engineering drawings and as floor liaison support. Good verbal and written communication including technical writing. Ability to read, analyze and interpret various technical procedures and reports. Ability to write reports and keep accurate documentation

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 7 years of professional experience; or 5 years professional experience with a related Masters degree.

Minimum of 3 years experience demonstrating use of SAP and/or VE CAMS or similar supporting or generating manufacturing work instructions, routings, product structure, and manufacturing bill of materials(EBOM/MBOM).

Experienced in the review and interpretation of assembly level engineering drawings and as floor support/liaison support.

Must have direct comprehensive experience with manufacturing of Electronics Assemblies, strong understanding of Electronics Assembly & Test processes, requirements, and durations

Experience with coordinating system integration to bring in multiple components and subsystems from numerous supplies and integrate define plan to integrate and test based of existing engineering and test documentation and procedures.

Experience and understanding of with configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret various electronics engineering drawings and test procedures and reports. Ability to write reports and keep accurate documentation

Desired skills
Special tooling and handling knowledge. Make or buy assessment background. Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) skill set
Exposure or participation on teams that have performed product, facility, and or resource risk mitigation through in-depth engineering and evaluation using Producibility techniques
Direct user experience in VE CAMs ERP tool including shop order maintenance and q-note/nonconformance disposition.
Ability to perform requirements analysis working within a major assembly team
Solid communication skills & demonstrated ability to drive process compliance.
Knowledgeable of PP&C/MRP transactions in SAP system
