Job Details

The Manager of the Test Aircraft Manager Department is responsible for managing the Test Aircraft Managers at the Development Flight Center (DFC). The Test Aircraft Managers are responsible for managing flight test aircraft by prioritizing, documenting and controlling all configuration changes, maintenance or inspection requirements, technical directives compliance, parts removals/installs, and engine or sub-system modifications. Responsibilities of the position include the following:

• Manage Test Aircraft Managers at the DFC in West Palm Beach, FL as well as remote locations including Stratford, CT, Patuxent River, MD and Owego, NY
• Manage department staff work assignments in dynamic business environment
• Develop and enhance flight test aircraft configuration management and maintenance tracking processes, procedures, and tools
• Provide leadership and resources for all flight test programs, to assure that technical, cost and schedule objectives are met and risks are successfully identified / mitigated.
• Support FAA conformity process for civilian helicopter programs
• Lead and implement process improvements within the aircraft management department and the site
• Ensure compliance with company and department policies and procedures
• Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions

Basic Qualifications
Must have technical or business bachelors degree from an accredited college;. Advanced degree preferred.

- Must have minimum 10 years work experience
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Must be customer focused and a team player
- Must be self-motivated and goal oriented
- Must be able to think analytically and solve problems,
- Must possess good communication skills to all levels of the organization (both written and oral),
- Must possess general aviation experience
- Must be able to work in small/large teams
- Must be experienced with engineering and production management tools and configuration management
- Must know Microsoft Office Suite
Personal flexibility is required to potentially support unusual working hours, weekends, and travel (10%)

Desired skills
- Previous experience managing personnel
- Experience in flight test, aircraft maintenance management, especially rotary wing aircraft, and/or project management considered a plus
- Experience with Solumina, Matrix One, SAP
- Familiarity with FAA Conformity process
