Sanofi Pasteur Limited is looking for motivated and results driven individuals to join our North American Regional GEM Department as a Manager, Electrical Engineer\.
The Manager Electrical Engineering executes electrical engineering activities for strategic capital projects within the North American Regional GEM Organization\. This position is required to manage development concept, design and fabrication, commissioning and qualification of electrical systems in a GMP environment\. This position is also a participant in the development and / or technology transfer of new solutions and modifications to our existing systems while adhering to established regulatory compliance requirements\. The incumbent is responsible for developing appropriate solutions to satisfy the needs of internal customers in accordance with company guidelines and procedures, and within budget and schedule commitments\. The incumbent is accountable for producing a design and then implementing the design \(commissioning and qualification\) according to GEM best practices\.
1\. Electrical System owner\. Maintain technical control of systems from design through qualification\.\(40%\)
+ Participate as project team member\.
+ Participate in facility definition in Preliminary phase\.
+ Review design work and deliverables by engineering contractor meets internal quality and standards\.
+ Apply best practices and global quality requirements in design process\.
+ Ensure design meets specific site requirements\.
+ Make sure design is consistent with project schedule\.
+ Make sure design is consistent with project budget\.
+ Participate in project risk assessments\. Assist with technical risk mitigation\.
+ Ensure vendor design and fabrication meets requirements\.
+ Consult with global GEM in the design process\.
+ Responsible for system through Commissioning and Qualification\.
2\. Interface with Regional GEM SME and Site Engineering\. \(10%\)
+ Apply the guidelines defined by Global Engineering Practices\.
+ Participate in Global Sanofi technology committees and networks
+ Utilize global GEM in the design process\.
+ Provide subject matter expertise to site when requested\.
+ Maintain working knowledge of site manufacturing facilities and equipment\.
+ Implement and utilize standard engineering analysis methods
+ Interaction with site reliability engineering for equipment performance\.
+ Utilize and enhance regional equipment standards data base and maintain\.
3\. Provide project management skills to develop and execute Capital Projects typically >$2M\. This position will work under the supervision of a department leader, but have full accountability for project success\. Incumbent is expected to have a working knowledge of NEXTs and Catalyst systems, experience supervising engineering and construction activities, tracking field progress, coordinating C&Q activities, coordinating with maintenance for calibration and turnover activities, coordinating with CAD for documentation turnover, and any other of the various project activities needed during execution\. \(25%\)
4\. As an experienced engineer, it is expected that incumbent has a working knowledge of project management and project controls Best Practices \(BPs\)\. The project manager will be responsible for time tracking of project staff \(both internal and external\) and cost control using SAP\. Incumbent has experience with the Project Request process for projects, and the AED process on larger projects >$325k\. Implement and assist in commissioning & qualification \(C&Q\) procedures on projects\. \(5%\)
3\. Communicate with customers and key stakeholders\. Prepare monthly updates to support the project leader\. Prepare and present presentations as appropriate\. \(15%\)
4\. Implement projects in a safe and GMP compliant manner\. Meet all HSE training requirements, and implement HSE procedures \(Safe Plan of Actions, Permits, etc\.\) on all projects\. \(5%\)
Education & Experience:
+ Minimum B\.S\., Electrical Engineering\.
+ 5 years of experience in electrical systems and distribution including high voltage, design engineering and project experience are required\. Additional experience preferred:
+ Providing consulting services within the electrical engineering discipline is preferred\.
+ Working knowledge of applicable electrical safety requirements and industry practice such as those of ESA/EUSA and NERC\.
+ Extensive high voltage electrical field work: Station/Substation and Transformer project installation, commissioning, service and maintenance, troubleshooting, rationalization and implementation of system and equipment optimization measures\. Complete ownership of work from planning, implementation, reporting, and job closure
+ High Voltage Studies: Provide technical services to assemble complete and report on electrical system studies, e\.g\., coordination, power quality, ground grids, arc flash, etc\.
+ Technical Support: Provide electrical technical support and problem\-solving as well as on\-site and in\-house trouble\-shooting and problem\-solving
+ Individual must have working knowledge of electrical systems \(distribution and high voltage\) typically used within a campus site and critical systems environment\. Must understand the relationship between Good Manufacturing Practices, industry standards and their application to the manufacturing process\. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external team members is essential\. This position requires strong analytical skills \(engineering analysis\), hands\-on troubleshooting skills and the capability to utilize AutoCAD, analysis software and company quality system software\.
