Job Details

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and its research and development line-of-business, The Skunk Works, seeks an enthusiastic, motivated, and innovative candidate to join the Low Observables Team. Specifically, we seek to identify a candidate with expertise in one of the following disciplines: electromagnetics, computational electromagnetics, metamaterial design and analysis, and/or antenna design theory. The candidate will participate in and ultimately lead multidisciplinary design teams to solve challenging aircraft survivability problems in the low observables, radar cross section reduction, infrared signature reduction, and/or countermeasures realm. A successful candidate will utilize their electromagnetics background and experience to design, model, prototype, and test new technology solutions in a high-paced environment to meet aircraft program needs

An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required for those that apply and ultimately a Top Secret clearance will be required. Must be a US citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

The candidate is responsible for the technology maturation lifecycle from initial concept, design, internal research and development (IRAD) project execution, prototype and test, external customer communication and marketing, proposal and contract capture, contract research and development (CRAD) leadership, and transition to production fleet. The engineer will lead small teams, work independently, and participate in government reviews, industry forums, and internal Skunk Works program reviews as signature subject matter expert. The candidate should have strong communication skills. An ability to explain complex technical concepts in a readily comprehensible manner is an advantage. The candidate should have experience preparing successful technical proposals. This will include the ability to perceive customer needs, develop a compelling technical approach to meeting those needs, clearly and concisely describe a plan for implementing the technical approach, and provide reasonable cost/schedule estimates for the work required
