SCHOOL OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

It is an exciting time to get involved with the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, located on UQ's St Lucia campus. The School is ramping up its investment in teaching, research and engagement and is creating a series of new positions in line with a bold, new strategic vision to ensure the School is at the forefront of meaningful research outcomes and pedagogy across its core impact areas of health, data, automation and energy. Boasting strong student enrolments in professionally accredited programs, combined with world-class researchers and facilities, the School is focused on strengthening its position in the global ICT and electrical engineering communities. The role: The successful appointees will be responsible for undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate teaching including course coordination and program development; research higher degree student supervision; research; and professional activities in the field of power and energy systems. The School's strong commitment to power and energy systems research focuses on the field of power systems analysis and condition monitoring of plants.

The person: Applicants must hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field and have a distinguished record of scholarship. In addition, you need to have demonstrated expert knowledge in at least one or more of the areas: renewable energy integration (solar and wind) to major grids; home energy management; micro grid and remote grid management; electrical equipment condition monitoring and life assessment; power systems protection; power systems control. Ability to lead or work in cross-disciplinary teams and a high level of effective writing, communication and interpersonal skills is essential.

Remuneration: There are two full-time continuing appointments available at Academic Level B or Level C. Appointment level will be commensurate to qualifications and experience. The remuneration package will be in the range AUD$92,143 - $109,419 p.a. (Level B); and AUD$112,874 - $130,151 p.a. (Level C), plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range AUD$107,807 - $128,020 p.a. (Level B); AUD$132,063 - $152,277 p.a. (Level C)).
