Lecturer/Assistant/Associate Professor of Teaching

Electrical or Electromechanical Systems/Applied Energy (Position #004698)


The Department of Engineering Technology & Construction Management at UNC Charlotte seeks applicants with ability to effectively teach courses in support of Electrical or Electromechanical Systems.


Typically, lecturers will be required to teach multiple course sections per semester. Student project team mentoring, laboratory management and supervision, course development, and course/program assessment and improvement are also required responsibilities. Positions are non-tenure-track reporting directly to the Department Chair. Start date is negotiable between May 16th and August 16, 2017.


Candidates must have a Master of Science degree in an appropriate discipline with professional industry, consulting, design, construction or safety experience for appointment as a Lecturer. Candidates with a doctorate may qualify for appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor of Teaching, rank being commensurate with professional experience. Candidates should possess excellent leadership, organizational, teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, and must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment that serves a diverse student population. Preferred qualifications include professional experience, professional registration or certification (CSP, CIH, PE, etc.), an earned Doctorate and prior teaching experience. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment may be either 9 month or 12 month depending upon department requirements and interest of the candidate. Candidates with prior teaching and administrative experience may be considered for an administrative appointment and are encouraged to apply.


Electrical or Electromechanical Systems (Position #004698)

Candidates with degrees and professional experience in electrical or electromechanical engineering systems are sought to deliver a variety of courses in electrical, electromechanical and/or applied energy.
