Experience sunny California in one of the beach communities of Los Angeles County on the Santa Monica Bay! Work with rocket scientists on technically challenging space projects critical to the defense and security of the U.S. As a member of MITRE's Program Division and Air Force Space Portfolio, work closely with the U.S. Air Forces Global Positioning Systems Directorate. The candidate will take lead for MITREs work in activities such as Next Generation Control Systems, Space Vehicles and Navigation Warfare.

 

Key Functions:

  • Candidates will work with a multi-organization engineering team to design, implement, and test modern space capabilities. Candidate will develop and mature technical roadmaps, perform analysis of alternatives, and provide technical advice.

  • Candidates must be able to take on and successfully complete diverse and technically challenging tasks.  The candidate will lead customer engagement to include definition of technical needs and cutting edge internal research definition to develop the future of GPS systems.












Minimum Qualifications:
BS and 8 years related experience

 

Required Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be a self-starter and possess broad system engineering expertise related to military, civil, and /or space systems. Candidates must be able to collaborate with government employees and contractors; work in multi-disciplinary teams; plan and execute projects; and build trusted relationships.

  • The candidate must understand model based system engineering techniques and apply them to system design.

  • Secret level clearance

  • *Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
The candidate will be expected to lead customer engagement and must possess excellent communications and written skills.  Knowledge of Positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) concepts and systems preferred.
