MITRE Program Division J430 and the MITRE Air Force Space Portfolio are looking for a lead engineer to work closely with the U.S. Air Forces Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC). The candidate will take lead for MITREs work in activities such as next generation Command and Control Systems, modernized space mission technology rapid prototyping, and enterprise standards definition.


Key Functions:
Candidates will work with a multi-organization engineering team to design, implement, and prototype future space capability.
Candidates must be able to take on and successfully complete diverse and technically challenging tasks needed to integrate systems and rapidly deploy Space Warfighter capabilities. The candidate will lead customer engagement to include definition of technical needs and cutting edge internal research definition.

Required Qualifications:
The candidate must be a self-starter and possess broad system engineering expertise related to military, civil, and /or space mission and systems. Candidates must be able to collaborate with government employees and contractors; work in multi-disciplinary teams; plan and execute projects; and build trusted relationships.
Knowledge with a high degree of proficiency understanding of software development, and system integration/interoperability.


Preferred Qualifications:
The candidate will be expected to lead customer engagement and must possess excellent communications and written skills.


Minimum Qualifications:
BS and 8 years related experience
