As a member of MITRE's Software Engineering Technical Center, you will provide hands-on software engineering expertise in a collaborative environment to respond to a diverse set of sponsor needs.  You will apply agile methodologies to prototype software solutions that respond to the needs of the end-user, empowers them to improve their business processes, and enables agile and adaptive changes to fielded capabilities to meet the ever-evolving needs. 

You will work in a collaborative learning environment where you will work closely with other software engineers in an environment and organization that encourages collaboration, mentoring, and continued learning.
As a software engineering consultant, you will have the opportunity to leverage and grow your software engineering expertise and provide:

Hands-on Software Design & Development
Software Architecture & Design
Software Analysis & Assessments
User Engagement & Experimentation

Software Systems Engineering

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field and 8 years of experience. Candidate demonstrates an ability to apply advanced principles, theories and concepts comparable to those obtained with a Master's degree in a relevant field of study. Candidate understands the missions, domains and challenges of MITRE customers and is fully responsible for deliverables-including definition, completion, and technical quality, as well as assuring consistency across the responsibility span. In addition, candidate is able to define projects or programs greater than themselves. 

Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant knowledge in the following will
improve your candidacy:
Strong understanding of full life cycle
development methodology skills including modern development processes (Agile
development, scrum)
Understanding of the application of modern
object-oriented methods
Understanding of enterprise frameworks, Web
Services principles and Service Oriented Architecture (SOAs)
Experience with Internet technologies such
as HTTP REST, HTTP SOAP, AJAX, web services, and related emerging web standards
Hands-on skills in: Java, C++, C#, HTML,
Knowledge and experience with XML
technology such as XSLT, XML Schema, and XML Namespaces
Experience with cloud computing
Mobile platform development experience
(iOS, Android)
Strong oral/written communication skills
