Huntsville, Alabama:
This position is within the RF Systems group within the RF Payloads Center of Excellence and will primarily support the RKV missile defense program as the lead RF/communication systems engineer. The individual will participate in the architecture, design/development, analysis and test of the tactical and telemetry communication subsystems and their radios, antennas, and other active & passive components. Specific tasks may include:
- Develop RF link budgets and trade studies
- Develop and maintain interface definitions and resource allocations
- Perform analysis, modeling and simulation of end-to-end comms to derive requirements and verify performance
- Generate and maintain specifications at various levels.
- Develop and flow requirements from system/vehicle specifications to all affected RF subsystem, component, antenna, and avionics interfaces
- Develop design documentation to communicate comm designs to internal management and business teams, and external vendors and customers.
- Support the build, test and verification of RF and Communications hardware
- Interface with diverse subject matter experts and providers of various subsystem products and technologies
- Support new business and technology opportunities through proposal support and BOE generation

Basic Qualifications
-Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or in a related discipline
-Development experience with RF Payloads @ S-Band, C-Band, and K-Bands
-Working knowledge of software defined radios, phased arrays, RF hats, power flux density, and EMI/EMC
-RF Cable and cable harness design experience
-Understands and can generate all parameters in a RF link and cascade analyses, multipaction and corona analyses, and transient analysis
-Ability and/or experience in providing technical leadership of a small team.
-Ability to travel up to 50%

Desired skills
-Certification and training as Certified Principal Engineer (CPE), Responsible Engineer, or equivalent
-Systems Engineering experience across various stages of a program lifecycle
-DOORS knowledge
-Experience using Matlab software
-Phased array and antenna design experience
-ASIC/RFIC/MMIC Design experience
-Power Supply design experience
-Faraday shields and gasket design
-Knowledgeable in FMECA and Reliability Engineering
-Knowledgeable in Thermal Design best practices
-Knowledgeable in Structural and Dynamic best design practices
-Knowledgeable in firmware development
-Can perform sneak circuit analysis
