This position is an exciting opportunity for a radar engineer to assume a technical leadership role in the modernization of ground based counterfire radars and assist in the development of new Army multi-mission surveillance radars.  Candidates will work on a wide range of engineering challenges, including such areas as:

  • Implementation of Pre-Planned Product Improvements (P3I) and test strategies to assess new capability performance

  • Development of advanced signal processing techniques for ground based and airborne radar systems

  • Trade studies involving implementation of multi-mission radar capabilities (Counterfire Target Acquisition, Air Surveillance, Synthetic Aperture Radar)

  • System level analysis of hardware requirements, software requirements, and processing architecture requirements to support multi-mission capability from a single platform

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, physics or related discipline.

  • Eight or more years of experience in radar.

  • The candidate should have a working knowledge of the following areas:

    • Radar theory and applications (ground-based, airborne, SAR/GMTI, AMTI, FOPEN)\

    • Radar hardware and RF requirements

    • Common Radar signal processing algorithms

    • Active Electronic Scanning Array (AESA) theory and hardware requirements

    • Digital Signal processing

    • RF link budget analysis

    • Modeling and Simulation experience (e.g. with Matlab or equivalent)

    • Electronic Protection techniques commonly employed by radar systems.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in electrical engineering, physics or a related discipline.

  • BS and 8 years related experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS and 8 years related experience.
