MITREs Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Portfolio is seeking a proactive Systems Engineer to join our Huntsville, AL team and help shape the evolution of the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) weapon system within the broader Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). This effort is an integral part of a collaborative environment with the government and other Federally Funded Research and Development Centers and University Affiliated Research Centers. As a MITRE Systems Engineer, you will produce technical papers to convey recommendations; develop and advise on architecture, requirements, and implementation approaches; and work collaboratively across the MDA to achieve program objectives.



 












Required Qualifications:

 

  • Technical background in systems engineering and one or more of the following: fire control systems, communications, command and control

  • Analysis and trade study development

  • Experience in requirements definition, systems integration, testing, analysis, and verification

  • Excellent communicator at senior levels

  • Ability to bring unique solutions to complex problems

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  •  Understanding of the BMDS and GMD Fire Control algorithms and behaviors

  • Familiarity with MATLAB

  • Understanding of technical review processes and criteria - e.g.,

  • Experienced with Requirements Reviews and Design Reviews

  • Experienced in Radar Discrimination, Track Processing, Data Fusion, and Engagement Planning

  • Understanding of, and experience with, major program technology acquisitions

  • Possess an active DoD secret clearance
 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical,  Computer or Systems Engineering or similar field

  • 8 years related experience.
