MITREs Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Portfolio is seeking a multi-disciplined engineer to join our Huntsville, AL team supporting the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) mission. This position entails trade studies, future requirements definition, and technical recommendations development. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in Remote Launcher, power generation and energy storage, and Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT).


Required Qualifications

  • Systems Engineering of weapon systems, to include architecture

  • Geographically adaptive software system adjustable parameters (SAPs)

  • Consequence mitigation (e.g., post-intercept debris modeling, sensor resource management, BMD planning, and optimization theory)

  • Analysis and trade study development

  • Excellent communicator at senior levels in writing and via public speaking

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree

  • 8+ years experience in Electrical Engineering, or Systems or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science with relevant experience in multiple disciplines

  • Understanding of cyber concepts

  • MDA experience

  • MATLAB and Virtual Machine experience

  • Possess an active secret clearance.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical,  Computer or Systems Engineering or similar field

  • 8 years related experience.
