Job Details
MITRE Program (P430) Cyber, Space and Intel Division are looking for a
candidate to work closely with the U.S. Air Forces Global Positioning Systems
Directorate. The candidate will take
lead for MITREs work in activities such as Next Generation Control Systems,
Space Vehicles and Navigation Warfare.
Candidates will work with a multi-organization
engineering team to develop, implement, and test modern capabilities for
commanding GPS space vehicles to meet civil and military position, navigation,
and timing needs.
Candidates must be able to take on and successfully organize and lead
diverse and technically challenging tasks involving the operations and sustainment
of the GPS control system. The candidate
will lead customer engagement to include definition of technical needs and
overseeing contractor efforts to develop enhancements to GPS enterprise
capabilities.
Candidates must be able to collaborate with government employees and
contractors; work in multi-disciplinary teams; plan and execute projects; build
trusted relationships; analyze existing processes, roles, organizational
structures; and identify and improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering or similar field and 8 years related experience. The candidate should possess the ability to define projects or programs greater than themselves. Candidate understands that he/she will be responsible for work and/or customer relationship development and will acts according toand guides others towardthe proper balance of a) product depth with timeliness and b) technical improvements with programmatic constraints, even when hard compromises are required. Preferred candidates will be recognized by senior management as a thought leader.
Required Qualifications
The candidate must be a self-starter and possess broad
system engineering expertise related to military and/or space systems. The candidate should also have experience in
(or working with SMEs) in requirements development, interface control
documentation, acquisition, software system development, and test
planning/execution.
The candidate must also have the following specific domain
skills: Space vehicle telemetry,
tracking, and commanding; Positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) concepts,
systems, and signals.
Preferred Qualifications
The Candidate will be expected to lead the customer
engagement, and must possess excellent communications and written skills, and
the ability to work well with Air Force, contractor, and other FFRDC personnel.
In addition, the following other knowledge
proficiencies are also strongly desired:
- GPS systems, signals and navigation messages
- GPS military applications and navigation warfare
