Responsibilities of Position - The Lead Engineer has full responsibility for all technical items for the proposals for the International S-70i Black Hawk platform under Global Military Systems and Service. This role will work closely with the S-70i Chief Engineer to establish strategies towards addressing time critical proposal requests to meet our customer’s needs. This role provides oversight of engineering personnel assigned to the activity and/or coordinates support from functional engineering to resolve all technical questions. The Lead Engineer, with support of an assigned System Engineer, is responsible for the oversight of aircraft attributes (weight/balance, R&M, dynamics and performance), technical design, and process engineering efforts, including Design to Cost (DTC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Affordability (DFA), compliance to Aviation Regulations, qualification assurance board (QAB) and the management of field technical and safety concerns

Project Planning – This role supports GMSS program leadership in the development of program and project requirements, statements of work, schedules, risk management plans, compliance matrices, contract deliverables, and compliance program plans in support of the proposals. The Lead Engineer is responsible for developing the engineering staffing needs and maintaining the engineering Resource Planning System (RPS). Supports the GMSS program management leadership in the development of performance metrics tracked through the Earned Value Management System (EVMS). Works closely with functional core engineering to develop plans to meet staffing requirements utilizing in-house staff, off-load, time and material, and/or strategic partnerships.

Project Execution – The lead engineer for S-70i Black Hawk will be a candidate for the position of Lead Engineer for any winning S-70i bids

Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Technical Bachelor Science Degree with at least 7 years of experience required.
• Experience in engineering and project management using Earned Value Management, employee coaching and development and strategic planning.
• Knowledge of engineering disciplines and process.
• Appreciation for System Engineering with Risk analysis and mitigation experience

Desired Skills
• Engineering degree preferred.
• Seeking a highly motivated, flexible individual with proven technical ability and business judgment.
• Good communication and presentation skills are required

Travel Requirements
• Approximately 30% travel to various international locations to interact with potential customer as part of the process of shaping requirements.
